A police post has been officially inaugurated in Kihaadhoo island of Baa atoll.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) announced the official opening of the Kihaadhoo Police Post on Saturday, via a post on social media platform ‘X’.
The Police Post on Kihaadhoo island was inaugurated by Commissioner of Police Ali Shujau.
The ceremony was attended by senior officers of the police institution and dignitaries from multiple institutions.
As part of efforts to serve the people of the island closer, in a decentralized manner, the police services were inaugurated in these islands in collaboration with the island communities.
MPS revealed that the establishment of the Kihaadhoo Police Post reinforces their commitment to improve community safety and to encourage law enforcement collaboration.
The police institution inaugurated two more police posts in islands in the north of Maldives over the weekend, including one in Henbadhoo island of Noonu atoll and one in Lhohi island of Noonu atoll.
The police posts are being established with the purpose of providing police services closer to the island community.
