Three more members of the Malé City Council have signed on to the ruling People’s National Congress (PNC).

The members of the capital city’s council who joined PNC include West Maafannu councilor Ibrahim Aboobakuru, Maafannu Northwest councilor Mohamed Areesh and South Mahchangoalhi councilor Aishath Azima.

Out of these three members, Areesh was elected to the seat on a ticket from the former ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).

Further, councilor Aboobakuru recently left the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) to join former president Abdulla Yameen’s People’s National Front (PNF).
