The police post established in Henbadhoo island of Noonu atoll, has been officially inaugurated.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) announced the official opening of the Henbadhoo Police Post on Friday, via a post on social media platform ‘X’.
The Police Post on Henbadhoo island was inaugurated by Commissioner of Police Ali Shujau.
The ceremony was attended by senior officers of the police institution and dignitaries from multiple institutions.
MPS revealed that the establishment of the Henbadhoo Police Post reinforces their commitment to improve community safety and to encourage law enforcement collaboration.
The police institution inaugurated five more police posts earlier in December and January, including one in Nellaidhoo island of Haa Dhaal atoll on December 9, one in Fulidhoo island in Vaavu Atoll on December 18, one in Thinadhoo island of Vaavu atoll on December 20, one in Lhaimagu island of Shaviyani atoll on January 4 and one in Lhohi island of Noonu atoll on January 26.
As part of efforts to serve the people of the island closer, in a decentralized manner, the police services were inaugurated in these islands in collaboration with the island communities.
The police posts are being established with the purpose of providing police services closer to the island community.
