Gov’t to authorize community-based rehabilitation services
A community-based drug rehabilitation programme is also to be launched

The government is to authorize community-based rehabilitation services.
This was revealed by the President’s Office on Tuesday.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu reached the decision to establish rehabilitation centers in three more islands and to authorize community-based rehabilitation services following recommendation from his Cabinet of Ministers.
The decision was based upon a thorough review of a paper submitted by the Ministry of Health during a cabinet meeting held on Sunday.
Muizzu decided to authorize community-based rehabilitation services in accordance with the Drugs Act (17/2011).
Further, a community-based drug rehabilitation programme is also to be launched in accordance with laws of the Maldives as well as Islamic principles.
