The police institution has confirmed this at a time some media outlets have been reporting that a child was assaulted inside the elevator of Centro Mall, on Saturday evening.
MPS revealed that they didn’t receive any such reports and that they had attempted to find out if any such case had occurred.
Although the police institution has claimed that they haven’t received such a report, they had earlier on Sunday posted on ‘X’ noting that it had happened. They had however, deleted the post later.
They later posted on ‘X’, stating that officers were scanning the location where the incident is to have taken place, to find out if any such incident had taken place. They had also inquired from people in the area to see if there was anyone who witnessed what happened, and had even checked if anyone had sought treatment at the hospitals and clinics.
Police officers had also accessed CCTV footage of the area as part of these efforts.

Further, a recent case of stabbing in Addu has led to a special operation being launched in the southernmost city, where officers have been making a number of arrests and confiscating weapons stashed on the island.
