Pres. sends names to appoint heads of 7 SOEs
Among the seven names forwarded by the President, only two were female
President Dr. Muizzu forwarded names to appoint heads of seven of the state-owned enterprises
Names have been submitted by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu to lead seven state-owned enterprises (SOEs).
President Dr. Muizzu forwarded the names to appoint the Chief Executive Officers and Managing Directors of Regional Airports Company Limited, Public Service Media (PSM), National Social Protection Agency (NSPA), Aasanda Company Limited, Urbanco, Fenaka Corporation and Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).
As such, President Dr. Muizzu has forwarded the name of former member of parliament for Bilaihdhoo constituency, Ahmed Mubeen for the post of the Managing Director of Regional Airports Company Limited. He was elected to the previous sitting of the People's Majlis on the ticket of Jumhooree Party. However, he later, joined Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM).
The name forwarded by the President for the position of the Managing Director of the PSM was Zeena Zahir. In addition to her extensive media career, Zeena was a member of the Maldives Broadcasting Commission (MBC) in the past.
Spokesperson of PPM, Heena Waleed's name was forwarded by the President for the post of the Chief Executive Officer of NSPA.
Additionally, President Dr. Muizzu forwarded the name of former MP for South Henveiru Constituency, Mohamed Abdul Kareem for the post of the Managing Director of Aasanda.
The President forwarded the name of the Parliamentary Group (PG) leader of People's National Congress (PNC), and MP for Felidhoo Constituency, Fazul Rasheed for the post of the Managing Director of Urbanco. Fazul had previously served as the Managing Director of Male Water and Sewerage Company Limited (MWSC), during the former president, Abdulla Yaamin's tenure.
The name forwarded by the President for the position of the Managing Director of the Fenaka Corporation was member of PPM senate and MP for Madaveli constituency Muaaz Mohamed Rasheed.
Furthermore, President Muizzu forwarded the name of the former Commissioner General of the Maldives Customs Services, Ibrahim Shareef, for the post of the Managing Director of MACL.
