Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt Maged Mosleh Nafei has paid a courtesy call on Minister of Foreign Affairs Moosa Zameer.
FM Zameer received the Egyptian Ambassador at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.
Egyptian Ambassador Mosleh and FM Zameer engaged in fruitful discussions regarding the brotherly ties shared between Maldives and Egypt.
During the meeting, FM Zameer also shed light on the importance of an immediate ceasefire of Israel’s heinous attacks on Gaza.
FM Zameer also expressed gratitude to Egyptian authorities for the support shown in coordinating aid to Gaza.
As part of his visit to the Maldives, Ambassador Mosleh also called on Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Saeed, Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom as well as Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Aslam.
During his meeting with Minister Shaheem, the ambassador revealed that they talked about how to take relations forward in Fatwa, the Supreme Council for Fatwa, in the training of Imams as well as in the strengthening of the Arabic language.

Mosleh was appointed the non-resident Ambassador of Egypt to Maldives back in May 2022.
Diplomatic ties were established between Maldives and Egypt in 1969.
