President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has held discussions on strengthening development cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The discussions were held during the courtesy call of the Special Envoy from the King of Saudi Arabia, Minister of Economy and Planning of Saudi Arabia, aisal bin Fadhil Alibrahim, on President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
The meeting took place at the President’s Office, on Saturday.
The meeting saw President Dr. Muizzu and Saudi Arabia's Minister of Economy and Planning holding extensive discussions regarding strengthening development cooperation such as trade, investment, and economic corporations.
Furthermore, highlighting that Saudi Arabia is a vital development partner of the Maldives, the President stated that he values the two countries' brotherly relations and that this government is firmly dedicated to expanding the two countries' ties.
Additionally, the President also stated that the Maldives would continue to assist efforts to battle global terrorism and expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia's efforts to bring peace to the Middle East, particularly in Palestine.
During the courtesy call, President Dr. Muizzu thanked the Minister for participating in the Presidential Inauguration on Friday. He conveyed his best wishes to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, and his keenness to enhance the cooperation between the two nations.
Minister Faisal bin Fadhil Alibrahim congratulated President Dr Muizzu on his assumption of office.
