RaajjeTV banned at MPL premises
 
No issues over screening of TVM, Channel 13 in premises

Maldives Ports Limited has banned screening of RaajjeTV their premises.

Speaking to RaajjeMV, an official at MPL reported that MPL CEO Abdul Razzaq Haleem had ordered that RaajjeTV in the MPL staff area. He reported that the CEO had said that RaajjeTV was essentially fake news, designed to create dissent. The CEO, he said, expressly said that it was fine that employees watched TVM and Channel 13.

The employees had expressed their dissatisfaction and requested for a written order on the issue.

MPL Information Officer Mohamed Ameez stated that as MPL is a stated owned company, as per rules and regulations only state media can be screened in their premises.

Ameez stressed that the CEO did not indicate a preference for a certain station.

The employees note that the TV and the MediaNet subscription for the TV was paid from their own funds.
