Ooredoo Masrace 2023 – Addu City has concluded with team Fehurihi taking the championship title.

Team Fehurihi won the championship title after a competitive battle among seven participating teams from the City.

A number of special awards were given out to the winning teams and fishermen at the closing ceremony held at Maradhoo Bandharu. Addu City Mayor Ali Nizar, joined the ceremony as the chief guest.

Team Fehurihi claimed the championship title of Ooredoo Masrace 2023 in Addu with a total of 220.9 points, taking home MVR 25,000 as Cash Prize.

The competition was intense, with Team Hondeli securing the runner-up position with a commendable total 141.6 points. Following closely, Team Baracuda secured the second runner-up position with a total of 131.9 points, further highlighting the fierce competition among the teams.

Adding to the array of remarkable achievements, Naja from Team Fehurihi took the Heaviest Catch title and the special gift pack from Sea Gear by catching a remarkable Wahoo (Kurumas) weighing 5.5kg. It is noteworthy to highlight that this is the first time that a Promethean escolar (Kattelhi) was caught in Ooredoo Masrace history.

The Best Fisherman title went to Ibrahim Abdulla from Team Happy Market who contributed to their team by catching a total seven fishes, while Azlifa Azeez from Team Fehurihi was recognized as the Best Fisherwoman, having reeled in a total of four impressive catches.

The competition is set to commence in the last city – Fuvahmulah City on 25th August 2023.

This year, as part of Ooredoo Maldives’ 18th Anniversary celebration, Masrace 2023 has extended its reach to all four cities: Male' City, Kulhudhuffushi City, Addu City, and Fuvahmulah City. The competition commenced on 4th August, in Male’ City with over 30 registered teams.
