Three arrested for throwing stones at police officers in Fuvahmulah City

A group of individuals who attempted to create commotion in Fuvahmulah City, have been arrested.
The group of individuals had allegedly thrown stones at police officers following the conclusion of the campaign gathering held by ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) in Fuvahmulah City on Sunday evening.
They were inside a café “Monte Rosa” and RaajjeMV understands that three individuals were arrested in connection with the case.
The suspects are accused of breaking into a barricaded zone and attempting to create commotion to disrupt public peace.
RaajjeMV understands that five police officers were injured in connection with the case including four male and one female officer.
They were treated for injuries at Fuvahmulah Hospital.
A video of the assault has since begun circulating on social media. Another video that has gone viral shows Special Operations officers entering the café with shields.
