The Chief Scout of the Maldives, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, has urged members of the Scouts and Guides organizations to fulfil their religious obligations, uphold national dignity, and maintain high moral standards.
The President made these remarks during a meeting with the Maldivian contingent attending the 25th World Scout Jamboree 2023, held at the Maldives Centre for Social Education (MCSE).
The event was also attended by the Chief Guide of the Maldives, First Lady Fazna Ahmed.
Speaking at the event, President Solih emphasized on the significance of these values in shaping the character of young individuals, and building a solid and prosperous nation.
President Solih addressed the scouts and guides during the meeting, encouraging them to adhere to national customs and regulations while attending the jamboree. He also urged participants to comply with all Jamboree rules and to represent the Maldives in a positive light.
Highlighting the benefits of attending the jamboree, President Solih noted that participants would have numerous opportunities to engage in new activities and expressed confidence that they would take advantage of these opportunities to further their personal development.
The President also highlighted the exceptional talent of Maldivian Scouts on the global stage, citing the inclusion of a Maldivian Scout on the planning team for this year's jamboree as evidence of this fact. He extended his congratulations to Scout Leader Ali Shafa'ath Manik for his role on the planning team.
Concluding his remarks, President Solih encouraged all Jamboree participants to seize this opportunity to showcase their abilities and talents.
The President also presented the Maldivian flag to the contingent leader during the meeting.
The 25th World Scout Jamboree, taking place from August 1-12, 2023, in SaeManGeum, Republic of Korea, will see the participation of 425 members from the Maldives.
