Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has commenced the physical works of the Harbor Development Project of Maduvvari island in Meemu Atoll.

MTCC disclosed that the company commenced the physical works of the project on 14th May 2023.

MTCC states that the entrance channel dredging operations are currently ongoing, under the project.

The scope of work under the project includes harbor dredging operations of 38,800 cubic meters, channel dredging operations of 54,093 cubic meters, as well as dredging and excavation of additional materials of 18,578.60 cubic meters.

Additionally, the company will also be doing reclamation operations of 111,471 cubic meters, construction of a 600 meters breakwater; and a 122 meters revetment.

The value of the project is MVR 48.19 million.
