Maduvvari citizens have no representation in Parliament: Shifaz
President Yameen had forgone his Presidential pledges
Citizens must strive for their rights
Work of opposition starkly different to that of Pres. Yameen

Citizens of Maduvvari Constituency have no representation within the Parliament and must use President Abdullah Yameen’s visit to the Constituency to raise their objections on this, says Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) Deputy Leader Mohamed Shifaz.

Speaking in the rally held in MDP headquarters on Monday night, Shifaz said due to the decision by the Elections Commission (EC) that Constituency had no representation in the Parliament. Shifaz urged all constituents to use President Abdullah Yameen’s visit to the island to actively seek out their rights.

Noting the joint efforts of the leaders of the four parties can result in a safe haven for the nation, Shifaz added the work of the opposition and the President were starkly different.

Shifaz further said the President had completely forgotten the pledges he had made as a candidate in the elections.
