The Madduvari Magistrate Court has passed a jail sentence of 15 years against a man who abused his step-daughter.

The girl’s family has asked that both hers and the accused identities be kept anonymous.

The man had pleaded not guilty to the sexual abuse charges but the ‘overwhelming’ evidence presented against him ensured the jail sentence.

He was accused of having abused the girl on numerous occasions since 2013.
