President Yameen arrives in Maduvvari island

President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Gayoom has arrived in Maduvvari island in Raa Atoll as part of his scheduled trip to the Constituency.

He arrived in the island this morning.

Members of opposition and constituents had expressed their displeasure over the trip, citing several issues, including the removal of their Parliamentarian from his seat.

President’s Office said in addition to Maduvvari, the President is scheduled to visit Meedhoo and Fainu islands in the Atoll.

He is to inaugurate the sanitation and clean water system in the island and mark the end to the beach protection project.

Additionally, he will open the port in Fainu island. President Yameen will open the new mosque in Meedhoo island as well as the clean water and sanitation network.
