A new Managing Director has been appointed to the Maldives State Shipping (MSS).
As such, appointed as the new Managing Director of MSS is Mohamed Nazim.
Prior to being appointed MSS’s MD, Nazim served as the Executive Director of the company.
MSS took to Twitter, announcing Nazim’s appointment on Wednesday. The company revealed that Nazim has been with them since the “very beginning” and that he comes with years of experience, both ashore and at sea.
MSS went on to wish him a bright future as the MD of the company.
Nazim’s appointment as MD of MSS comes following the appointment of former MSS MD Abdulla Saeed as the new MD of the State Trading Organization (STO).
Saeed’s appointment as the MD of STO comes almost two weeks after the sacking of Hussain Amru as the Managing Director of STO in late March.
The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) reached the decision to appoint Saeed as a board member and as the MD of STO, on April 4.
Since its inception in 2020, so far three vessels have been earmarked to ferry goods.
