A speeding motorcyclist has crashed into two other motorcycles while attempting to flee from the police.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that the accident occurred when a motorcycle speeding near Nalahiya Hotel at around 01:03am on Tuesday, crashed into two other motorcycles.
The police institution went on to reveal that the speeding motorcyclist had been attempting to flee from officers patrolling near the region, who gestured for them to stop.
Police revealed that the speeding motorcyclist had attempted to hit and run even after the crash.
However, police officers at the scene had stopped the individual, who has since been taken into police custody.
MPS also revealed that the motorcyclist did not have a license at the time of the accident.
Further investigations are currently underway, in connection with the crash.
