The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has made a donation of Iftar packs to the Maldives.

UAE Embassy’s Chargé d'affaires Abdul Rahman Al Shamsi handed over the donation to Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Zahir Ali on Tuesday.

Speaking to RaajjeMV, Islamic Minister Dr. Zahir revealed that the embassy has made the donation to be distributed among the poor.

He noted that the donation includes food staples including flour and rice as well as other food necessities for families during the fasting month.

Highlighting that the authority will begin distributing the Iftar packs on Thursday, the minister stated that the distribution will be made, based on the list of poor and vulnerable of 2022.

Dr. Zahir added that the ministry will be reaching out to those on the list and updating their addresses and phone numbers on Wednesday.
