Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has disclosed that the Harbor Development Project of Muraidhoo Island in Haa Alifu Atoll is well underway.
The company on Monday, took to Twitter to update the public on the progress of the Muraidhoo harbor development project.
As such, MTCC states that the project has so far seen 70 percent progress and is close to completion.
The company went onto note that the first shipment of rock boulders required for the project has been delivered to the project site, and new harbor dredging work has been completed.
Under the scope of the project, MTCC is required to install a 212-meter breakwater, a 407-meter quay wall, 105-meter revetment and 50-meters of groyne.
Further, the company is also required to dredge the harbor basin and navigation channel as well as build a ramp and walkway bridge.
The installation of navigation lights also comes under the scope of the project.
The project is valued at MVR 36.3 million.
