First Lady conferred highest honors by the Asia Pacific Region WAGGGS

First Lady Fazna Ahmed
The Asia Pacific Region, World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) has honored First Lady and Chief Guide Fazna Ahmed with the most prestigious individual supporters award, the Asia Pacific Region Appreciation Award.
The honor was presented to her during Maldives Girl Guides Association's Annual General Meeting 2022, held at the Customs Building, on Saturday.
The First Lady received the award in honor of her immense contributions to the girl guide movement.
This is the first time the award has been bestowed upon a Maldivian.
At the ceremony, the Asia Pacific Area Appreciation Award were also presented to four organizations and five individuals in the philanthropic category. The First Lady presented certificates to the recipients of warrant certificates.
The Girl Guide Association's commissioner certificates, service awards, and appreciation awards were presented by the Chief Commissioner, Niumaath Shafeeg.
In addition to two recipients of the Maldives Girl Guide Association's Appreciation Award, 75 people who have served from five to thirty years received honors during the ceremony.
At the meeting, the annual report, financial report, and the AGM for 2022 were also approved.
