Four individuals have been remanded in connection with a case of drug abuse.
The Criminal Court issued the remand on the four suspects during a hearing held on Friday.
Remanded in connection with the drug bust are a 39-year-old, a 26-year-old, a 31-year-old and a 34-year-old.
The court order notes that sufficient evidence has been produced against them to prove that they have committed the alleged crime.
The four suspects have been detained under Section 60 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, according to Section 49 of the Maldives Constitution and Section 59 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
They were remanded as they are a threat to the safety of the community.
All four were remanded for a period of 15 days.
Their remand period expires on February 18.
According to the court order, they were arrested in accordance with the law.
The order was issued by Chief Judge of Criminal Court Ahmed Shakeel.
