Aishath Shaan Shakir has presented her credentials as the Non-Resident Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Maldives to the Kingdom of Norway.
The Maldivian Ambassador to Germany as well, Shaan presented her Letter of Credence to King Harald V, King of Norway during a ceremony held at the Royal Palace in Oslo on Thursday.
The credential ceremony saw the Maldivian ambassador conveying personal greetings and warm felicitations from the president of Maldives, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to the king of Norway as well as the government and people.
Ambassador Shaan went on to express her commitment to further enhance the existing bilateral relations and close cooperation between Maldives and Norway.
As part of her visit to Norway, the Maldivian ambassador sat down with Deputy Secretary General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway Vegar Brynildsen and other senior officials of the ministry to engage in discussions on topics of mutual interest.
The discussions revolved around ways to explore potential avenues of collaboration in areas such as climate change, sustainable development, waste management, blue economy and education among others.
Further, the Maldivian ambassador paid a courtesy call on Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Oslo, Maw Maw.
