Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid has met with the United Nations Country Team.
FM Shahid engaged with members of the United Nations Country Team on Thursday, during their annual retreat.
The interaction saw FM Shahid sharing his experience as the President of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
He also shed light on the significant role country teams needs to play in translating what is happening in New York to the local level, help connect the various processes, and find opportunities for projects and examples from the national level, to be featured in events and processes globally.
The Maldivian minister went on to express gratitude to the UN Country Team led by the UN Resident Coordinator for the dedication and commitment as well as for supporting the development path of the Maldivian government.
FM Shahid requested the UN Country Team to discuss ways to enhance coordination in a bid to work together towards the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) 2022-2026.
Joint Secretary Mariyam Midhfa Naeem, Assistant Director Aishath Shahula and Assistant Director Ahmed Salman Zaki accompanied the foreign minister.
