Members of the Council and the Women’s Development Committee (WDC) of Inguraidhoo island in Raa Atoll have expressed their gratitude to the administration for its efforts in developing the island.

The members of the Council and WDC of Inguraidhoo conveyed their gratefulness to the current administration at a meeting with the Vice President Faisal Naseem.

VP Naseem met with the members of the Inguraidhoo island council, the WDC and the heads of island’s institutes at the Council Secretariat of the island on Saturday, upon arrival in the island at the start of a tour of four islands in Raa Atoll.

At the meeting, members of the Council and the WDC highlighted the island's pertinent developmental needs. They noted the lack of space in the Council Secretariat, the island’s school, and the office building of the.

The representatives at the meeting also emphasized on the need to expedite work on the health center's extension building, as well as the challenges faced in waste management, and discussed social issues confronting the island's community.

Additionally, the WDC members shared the need for a dedicated space to carry out capacity building programs for the island's women.

The meeting saw Vice President Naseem stating that the President and the administration were closely monitoring the island's development projects and that the administration places a great value on carrying out these projects in accordance with the wishes of the island's residents.

Moreover, VP Naseem noted that some of their concerns were already being addressed in ongoing initiatives in various stages of completion, and he briefed the participants on the most recent updates on these projects. He also stated that discussions would be held with relevant government agencies to address their concerns.

The Vice President expressed gratitude to the people of Inguraidhoo for the warm welcome he received upon his arrival.

After the meeting, the Vice President toured the Council Secretariat. He also visited the health center in the island and inquired about their services, and then visited Inguraidhoo School's annual scout camp and met with the students who were there.
