Maldives Police Service (MPS) has launched a search for two individuals.

The authority revealed that the two men are being located to be taken into police custody and be presented to the Criminal Court for questioning.

As such, the Criminal Court has ordered the police institution to present Ushan Adhudhan, 26 and registered in Malé City as well as Ibrahim Irfan, 21 and native to Vilufushi island in Thaa atoll.

The police institution revealed that the two men are being sought in connection with an ongoing case at the Criminal Court.

They are to have been dodging and deceiving the court after receiving summons chits for an ongoing investigation regarding cannabis trafficking charges raised against the two.

Ushan and Irfan are to have lied to the court continuously that they would present themselves for the hearing and failed to do so.

Further, the two men have been declared a flight risk.

Police are to locate the two men, put them behind bars and present them to the court at 11am on October 4.

The public has been urged to contact the Police Custodial Department through 9991442 if any information is attained regarding the suspects.

MPS took the opportunity to express gratitude to the public for the support and assistance extended in such cases.
