VP discussed receiving technical assistance with Singapore’s Minister
VP Naseem expressed that the Maldivian government looks forward to cooperating in a variety of areas
VP Naseem met the Minister for Social and Family Development of Singapore, Masagos Zulkifli, as part of his unofficial visit to the country.
Vice President Faisal Naseem has held discussions with the Minister for Social and Family Development of Singapore, Masagos Zulkifli about receiving technical assistance from the country.
VP Naseem met the Minister of Singapore on Thursday, as part of his unofficial visit to the country.
During the meeting, the Vice President highlighted that the two countries had a number of high-level visits during which several Memorandums of Understanding were signed that were mutually beneficial, during the course of the partnership.
Stating that Singapore continues to play an important role in the development of the Maldives, VP Naseem expressed that the Maldivian government looks forward to cooperating in a variety of areas. As such, he highlighted areas such as, defense, social development, economic development, telecommunications, and youth empowerment. The Vice President also spoke about education, the significance of early childhood development.
He discussed receiving technical assistance on the topics highlighted with Minister Zulkifli.
The Vice President and Singapore’s Minister for Social and Family Development also discussed mutual interests such as international cooperation and increasing people-to-people contact. They expressed hope of working together to further strengthen the Maldives-Singapore relations.
Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Singapore were established on February 20, 1975.
