Yoga dispute: four others released
Four of the men who were arrested were brought to the Criminal court to increase their sentence but were set free under some conditions

Four people who were arrested for disrupting the yoga events at Galolhu Stadium have been set free.

The police have stated that the people who were arrested due to the disturbance on the 21st of June had been sent to the Criminal court to increase their sentencing but were released under certain conditions. Currently there are 15 people being held by the police in relation to the yoga incident.

Sheikh Adam Nishaan, who was being held by the police in relation to disrupting the yoga event was recently released by the criminal court. The yoga event held in Galolhu stadium during the morning of the International Yoga Day was disrupted by a group of people who had trespassed, destroyed their property and caused bodily harm to the participants of the event.

The case is under investigation by the Serious and Organized Crime Department of Maldives Police Service. The parties involved in the incident are said to be under investigation and are in the process of being persecuted by the department of Organized Crime.
