Biss Buru Sports Club has faced a crushing defeat in the ongoing Second Division Football Tournament by Football Association of Maldives (FAM), at a match against Buru Sports Club.

Biss Buru went head-to-head with Buru in Group One game on Monday evening and faced a miserable defeat of 0 – 6.

Serbian striker Stefan Duric, who scored a hat-trick during the game, secured the lead for Buru Sports Club 17 minutes into the first half of the match.

The lead was extended by Ahmed Nazim in the first half and the team secured four more goals in the second half, two of which were scored by Duric.

One of the goals observed in the second half was an own goal by Biss Buru player Ibrahim Eemau.

The winning team’s sixth and last score was by Abdulla Shafiu.

With the outcome of Monday’s game, Buru remains on top of the table with 12 points secured in four matches played in the first group, so far.

Kuda Henveiru United trails at second spot with six points secured through three games, followed by Tent Sports Club at third.

Biss Buru falls to the fourth spot of the table with six points. Following at its tail is Dhivehi Sifainge Club at fifth spot, with three points.

Coming sixth on the table is Club PK with three points, JJ Sports Club falls to seventh.

With no points, Capital City Sports Club remains at the bottom of the division table.
