Vice President Faisal Naseem has inaugurated the Y-PEER training of trainers program in the Maldives.
The program was launched on Thursday.
Y-PEER is a global network of more than 2,000 non-profit organizations and governmental institutions, with over 33,000 active memberships.
During the inauguration ceremony, VP Naseem urged the participants to utilize the knowledge gained through the training to invigorate positive change in their communities.
The VP in his remarks, highlighted the essential role youth could play in providing guidance, love, and support to their peers and preventing their involvement in crimes.
The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment partnered with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to establish Y-PEER in the Maldives and become a regional Y-PEER member.
This interactive workshop will be held for 10 days. The workshop will be attended by 31 participants, aged between 18 and 30 , from nine islands of four atolls, and the Greater Malé Area.
