The Government addressed the issues relating to the women’s praying area in the Islamic Centre.
The Islamic Ministry remedied the issue ahead of Ramadan by allocating space on the ground floor of the Islamic Centre for women to perform prayers. As such, they allocated the open space in front of the Islamic Centre reception area for women who find it difficult to climb up to the second floor of the mosque, area designated for women.
After making these arrangements, the Ministry urged to priorities those are in need and reserve the allocated ground floor area for the needed.
First Lady Fazna Ahmed in her speech at the official function held to mark International Women's Day, raised concerns relating to the women’s praying area in the Islamic Centre.
First Lady Fazna interlaced her statement to the upcoming holy month of Ramadan, and stated that if women were questioned about Ramadan preparations, they would emphasize the necessity of space on the ground level of the Islamic Centre for women to pray as some women are unable to ascend two flights of stairs each time.
The Islamic Ministry, ahead of Ramadan is doing renovation of the Islamic Centre.
