Dhiraagu pledges to support Care Society's VTU

Dhiraagu has pledged to support Care Society's Vocational Training Unit (VTU) 2022 program.

This is a program initiated to empower adolescents and youth with disabilities at Care Society.

Dhiraagu stated that the program trains students with art and craft, sewing and basic computer skills. As such, students with various disabilities including Down Syndrome and other disabilities are enrolled in this program. Two hour classes will be held on four days a week for the program.

The company highlighted that the objective of the program is for students to learn basic vocational skills.

Speaking about the past program, Dhiraagu highlighted that 12 students had successfully completed last year’s program.

The company stated that they have always been keen in achieving goals to empower people with disabilities and to build a society free from inequalities. As such, the Director Corporate Services at Dhiraagu, Athifa Ali said that the company is delighted to pledge their support to Care Society’s Vocational Training Unit for 2022.

She stated that the program especially empowers students to learn basic vocational skills and that Dhiraagu appreciates Care Society for successfully conducting this much-needed program.

Expressing gratitude to Dhiraagu's continuous support, Executive Director at Care Society Ahmed Athif said that this continued support will help them strengthen the program and to sustain the program.

Since the establishment of Vocational Training Unit in 2018, Dhiraagu has continued to support the VTU Program by Care Society. Dhiraagu stated that it is an important reminder to recognize the challenges for persons with Downs Syndrome and other disabilities, ensure that no one is left behind in reaching their full potential and make meaningful contributions to the society, as we mark World Down Syndrome Day today.
