President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed a new State Minister at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs.
President Solih on Sunday appointed Uz Mohamed Aneel to the post of State Minister at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs.
Uz Mohamed Aneel pursued a Bachelor's in Islamic Shariah at the Islamic University of Madinah in 2012.
He is currently enrolled in the Masters of Islamic Studies programme at the Maldives National University (MNU).
Prior to his appointment, Uz Aneel served as the head imam of Hithadhoo Island in Addu City.
With the addition of the new State Minister, the Islamic Ministry now have two state Ministers. The Ministry have a total of four Deputy Ministers at the moment.
