Banks of Maldives (BML) has concluded its ‘BML WOW Kidz Run’.

This year’s run was held in collaboration with Total Fitness Group (TFG).

According to the country’s national bank, the run was held on December 25, at Hulhumalé Central Park and a total of 900 children of four age categories participated.

‘BML WOW Kidz Run’ was open for four categories:

  • For children between four to six years
  • For children between six to eight years
  • For children between eight to 10 years
  • For children between 10 to 13 years

Participants were conferred medals following the end of the run, a very popular event among children and parents.

Depending on the age category, the run ranged from 1.3 kilometer to 4-kilometer races. The run has been held since 2016.

We are pleased with this year’s run which we held in collaboration with TfG. The main objective of this run is to emphasize the importance of staying active and healthy, and to encourage children and parents to adopt such lifestyles. The program which we have supported through this run is also a very important for persons with disabilities”

Following the conclusion of the event, the country’s national bank made a generous donation of MVR 100,000 to the Maldives Association for Persons with Disabilities.

Chairperson of Bank of Maldives, Yooshau Saeed and People and Change Director of BML, Sahar Waheed handed the donation over to MAPD.

The donation is to be used to run its ‘Healthy PWDs program’, aimed at children with disabilities with access to physiotherapy, behavior, speech and occupational therapy.
