The Criminal Court has remanded the spouse of a murdered Philippines national employed as a nurse at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), by 15 days.

The Filipino nurse’s suspicious death was reported last week, and work is currently underway to transport her body overseas for a postmortem examination.

Arrested and remanded in connection to the murder is the woman’s 29-year-old husband, a Filipino. He was arrested on Wednesday and the court issued his remand on Thursday.

Further investigations are currently underway.

The case was initially reported as a suicide as the woman was found hanged. However, the police arrested her spouse under suspicions of murder as there were no signs of suicide by hanging, on the victim’s body.

The suspect is also employed as a nurse at IGMH.
