An additional 18 individuals have tested positive for Covid-19, from Addu City.
According to the latest statistics by Addu Equatorial Hospital, 301 samples were collected for testing between 6pm Wednesday and 6pm Thursday, of which 18 returned positive for the infection.
With this, all cases in Addu City adds up to 1,726.
Further, 1,471 recoveries have been confirmed from the southernmost city so far, with active coronavirus cases rising to 252.
The active cases are 148 in Hithadhoo, 16 in Maradhoo, 29 in Maradhoo-Feydhoo, 56 in Feydhoo, one in Hulhudhoo and two in Meedhoo.
While Addu’s Covid Facility is treating two positive cases, Addu City has reported four Covid-19 fatalities so far.
A total of 26,146 samples have been collected so far and residents of the southernmost city had been urged to provide samples if they exhibit any symptoms.
