A man has passed away after being speared by the bill of a swordfish while he was snorkeling.
Maldives Police Service (MPS) stated that the man, who had gone snorkeling in B. Maalhos was impaled by the swordfish in his chest, close to his heart.
He was taken to Baa Atoll Hospital on Wednesday at around 4:10pm, where he was declared dead.
The deceased is a 33-year-old Maldivian man, named Adam Abdul Rahman.
He had been running his own dive center in Maalhos, Maldivers, and was a driving instructor known among the islanders.
