Bashundhara Kings leads the group with four points

The third match played in the AFC Cup South group stage matches, India’s Bengaluru FC and Bangladesh’s Bashundhara Kings faced off, with the match concluding in a tie.

The match took place on Saturday evening, at the National Football Stadium in capital Male City.

No goals were scored by either team throughout the match.

While both teams started out showing equally skillful playing, Bashundhara’s forward, Robson Azevedo da Silva came close to scoring the team’s first goal during the first few minutes of the match, which went missed.

On the 18th minute, Bengaluru FC’s forward Bidyashagar Singh Khangembam, missed a golden opportunity to score the team’s first goal, which was followed by another missed attempt by the club’s Brazilian forward, Clayton Silva.

During the second half of the match, Bashundhara took control, with Robinho’s dangerous goal attempt being blocked by Bengaluru FC’s goalkeeper, Gurpreet Singh, on the 55th minute. As well as this, another scoring opportunity was missed, when the ball hit the edge of the goal net, from a shot aimed by Bengaluru FC’s defender, Alan Costa. This was on the 73rd minute.

While this match ended goalless, ATK Mohun Bagan had won the first group stage match against Bengaluru FC by a score of 0-2. The Bangladeshi team also won their first match of the group stage, against Maldives’ Maziya Sports and Recreation on Wednesday.

Bashundhara remains in the lead with four points.

While Mohun Bagan remains in second place with a point tally of three, they will face Maziya on Saturday evening.

Maziya is at the bottom of the list, with zero points. Begaluru FC has one point with Saturday’s draw.
