The Education ministry has begun to send out the remaining books students are yet to receive, despite the academic year starting on August 10.

The ministry stated that they have now received the hard copies of the books they had been waiting on and are working to send them out to schools as soon as possible.

As classes commenced for the new academic year over a week ago, the issue of books not being available and teachers not being in attendance were raised by concerned parents.

Face-to-face classes had only recently begun with the New Academic Year after months of online schooling, due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Schools had been very prepared to bring the children back and had arranged for their temperature to be checked and hands to be sanitized before the kids entered school premises, among other coronavirus safety protocols. These rules were included in the guidelines announced by the education ministry.

According to the protocol set by the ministry, students are to be seated in classrooms while practicing social distancing; social distancing is to be practiced at all times within the school. Furthermore, the ministry has asked to not send students showing Covid-19 symptoms to classes, stressing that following these rules are the only way that the spread of the virus can be prevented within schools.
