Authorities have decided to strengthen Covid-19 safety measures in Kulhudhuffushi City, as the coronavirus numbers continue to increase in the city.
With an additional seven cases confirmed on Sunday, the city's Covid-19 total has risen to 51.
Kulhudhuffushi City Council urged all residents to practice safety measures and follow guidelines by relevant authorities amid the increase in cases reported from the island.
Therefore, masks are to be utilized whenever an individual is outside and those who work in customer service like as store assistants and taxi drivers are required to wear a mask as well. Furthermore, since parks and public areas are closed, citizens are advised not to gather in groups and not to go swimming in groups.
Further, residents are not allowed outside unless necessary while those in quarantine have been asked to follow all rules by the Health Protection Agency (HPA).
The city council also encouraged all citizens to follow instructions of relevant authorities for the sake of the city’s safety, in order to curb the spread of the virus and return to normalcy.
