While individuals can celebrate Eid-al-Adha following the eases to Covid-19 restrictions from July 8, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) appealed to the public to follow safety guidelines to avoid a fifth wave of the ongoing pandemic.
The eases announced last week allows inter-island travel without quarantining for fully vaccinated individuals that have passed the 14 day observatory period, if they have a negative PCR test, as well as gatherings of less than 30 people. Cafe's and restaurants resumed dine-in services from July 8, while the quarantine period for inbound international travelers has been reduced to seven from 14.
Appealing to the public to continue following Covid-19 safety guidelines to curb the spread of the virus, HPA urged special precaution when traveling as well as conducting Eid-related events.
The agency also released a set of rules to be followed when celebrating Eid. These include;
While people who are fully vaccinated can travel from one island to the other without having to quarantine, they are only allowed in islands where monitoring measures are in effect.
