Maldives has reported an additional death to Covid-19.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that a 55-year-old Maldivian woman being treated at Dharumavantha Hospital passed away early Monday morning.
With this, the country has seen a total of 198 deaths to Covid-19 since the first one was reported in April 2020.
37 deaths havebeen recorded thus far in June.
As per the statistics released by HPA, a total of 111 deaths from Covid-19 were confirmed between April 28 and June 5 with 88 deaths reported in May alone.
The island nation has reported a total of 70,301 Covid-19 cases since the first one was detected in March 2020. There are currently less than 10,000 active cases in the country, with 60,769 recoveries recorded.
The latest government daily figures also show that a total of 313,865 people had a first dose of a coronavirus vaccine while 177,969 had their second dose by Saturday.
