Another Maldivian has died with Covid-19 in the Maldives.
The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said that an 83-year-old local man passed away from Covid-19 on Sunday morning. She was being treated at the Hulhumale’ Medical Facility (HMF).
With this, a total of 197 patients have died from Covid-19 in the Maldives.
While four deaths were reported on Saturday alone, 36 deaths has been recorded thus far in June.
As per the statistics released by HPA, a total of 111 deaths from Covid-19 were confirmed between April 28 and June 5 with 88 deaths reported in May alone.
The island nation has reported a total of 70,077 Covid-19 cases since the first one was detected in March 2020. There are currently 11,041 active cases, with 58,832 recoveries recorded.
The latest government daily figures also show that a total of 313,609 people had a first dose of a coronavirus vaccine while 176,798 had their second dose by Thursday.
