All 56 members in attendance voted in favor of forwarding the bill to the Majlis' committee-stage. The bill was forwarded to the Joint Committee on National Development and Heritage, and the Committee on Decentralization.

The bill submitted on behalf of the state by West-Maafannu constituency MP Mohamed Falah states that Maldives Transport Authority, as described under Article 3.1 of the Land Transport Act, be removed from the law, along with an additional amendment to Article 70 of the Land Transport Act. The amendment will see the legitimization of racing without permits as a display of skill while driving land vehicles.

In submitting the bill, MP Hussain Ziyad stated that the Maldives Transport Authority would be dissolved, with all its functions and operations transferred under the mandate of the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation Authority. As such, the bill notes that all the employees of the Maldives Transport Authority, their resources and assets will also be transferred to the Transport Ministry.
