Maldives Police Service (MPS) have confirmed that five Maldivian men have been arrested following violent altercations near the Feydhoo Children's Park in Addu City.
Police received report of the incident at around 6:30pm on Thursday, and have confirmed that the violence was the result of conflicts between two groups.
The five arrests include three local men aged 18, 20 and 32, in addition to two 21-year-olds. The arrests were made under court orders, Police confirm.
Seven people were reported injured in the incident. Some are receiving care at the Feydhoo Health Center, while others are being treated at the Addu Equatorial Hospital.
