136 new cases of Covid-19 were reported across the Maldives on Wednesday, with 125 additional recoveries confirmed from the infection nationwide.
124 of Wednesday's 136 new cases were from the Male' area, with 10 more cases reported from operational resorts and two new cases detected from liveaboard vessels.
With this, the Maldives total Covid-19 case tally is now 20,820, of which 2,615 are active cases. By sundown on Wednesday, 187 people remain admitted in hospitals for Covid-19 treatment across the country.
A further 125 recoveries from the infection were reported on Wednesday. bringing the total number of recoveries observed for the infection in Maldives up to 17,595.
On Wednesday, health authorities reported the 63rd death from Covid-19 in the Maldives, confirming the passing of a 67-year-old local man, who was rushed to the emergency room at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) on early on Wednesday in an unresponsive state.
