Two individuals have been injured in a fire that broke out in a house in Maldives capital, Malé City.
The fire sparked after a gas cylinder in the fifth-floor-apartment of a house in Henveiru-ward, Thin Noonuge, exploded, Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) received reports of the fire at around 12:31pm on Wednesday.
The incident was reported to the authorities by the residents of the house after the fire was quelled, and the injured were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Both individuals burnt in the explosion, two men, are currently receiving treatment at Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
MNDF revealed that the explosion was resulted by a loose nut on the gas cylinder’s regulator, which in turn led to a gas leak.
