Fire originated from a four-room block

Two rooms were destroyed beyond use following a fire in Olhuveli Beach and Spa Maldives.

Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) said that the fire was reported at around 12:25am on Tuesday, and that the fire was extinguished by resort workers when its fire and rescue team arrived on the island located in South Male' atoll.

Further noting that the fire originated from a four-room block, MNDF spokesperson Ibrahim Azim said that two of the rooms were destroyed beyond use in the incident.

No injuries were reported.

MNDF is yet to disclose the cause of the fire.
