2020 was recorded as the most productive year ever for Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).

CEO Adam Azim revealed that the company completed the greatest number of projects in their 40-year history this past year, giving credit to its employees for this unprecedented success.

Highlighting the perseverance of the hundreds of MTCC staff all over the nation as the reason for the company's historic success, Azim thanked them for their hard work and commitment.

The MTCC CEO had previously revealed that the company was structuring their operations to reflect President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's vision to expedite the work for development projects nationwide. He maintained that MTCC would only begin work on projects given to them after amassing all the necessary resources to complete the project in its entirety.

MTCC completed a total of 34 projects in 2020. Aside from islands of Shaviyani, Lhaviyani, Dhaalu, Alif Dhaalu, Meemu and Thaa, MTCC has 23 on-going projects in all of the administrative atolls in the Maldives with over 1,800 employees.

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company Plc was established as the first public company in the Maldives on 18 December 1980. Over the years, MTCC has been providing a range of services to the Maldivian public, including providing avenues for both land and sea transport across atolls and acting as a civil and marine constructor. The company has played an integral role in developing transport infrastructure across the country, and continues to supply the expertise, resources and logistics support to complete mammoth development projects all over the nation.
