Maldives reported 21 new infections of the global Covid-19 pandemic, along with 28 full recoveries on Thursday.
The Health Protection Agency tested 2,562 samples collected between 6pm Wednesday and 6pm Thursday, out of which 21 came through positive.
Out of the new infections, 12 were confirmed in the Greater Malé Region, five in operational resorts and four in residential islands.
Statistics go on to reveal that 28 Covid-19 patients have made full recoveries over the past 24 hours, which pushes the total number of recoveries in the island nation to 13,011.
Maldives Covid-19 tally currently sits at 13,558.
Out of the 492 active coronavirus cases across Maldives, 37 patients are currently hospitalized for treatment, which is two less than the previous day.
Healthcare officials have taken a total of 299,468 samples for Covid-19 testing in the Maldives, thus far.
The pandemic, which surfaced in the Maldives on March 7, has claimed 48 lives thus far.
